KBS sports variety show "Dream Team 2" aired a special on August 7th. The show was called "Dream Girl's Summer Special". After the broadcast of that particular special, there were complaints of some rather obscene and suggestive images which were inappropriate.
Guests that appeared on that particular episode of the show included: CSJH, Girl's Day, SISTAR, Rainbow, Rania, Dal Shabet, Nine Muses along with Kim Na Young, Kim Mi Yeon and a few others who were going to participate in a series of games. Because the setting for the episode was to be a waterpark, the girls wore bathing suits with T-shirts over them but not all of the girls participating in the games did. Some of the games that were played made viewers very uncomfortable as a result.
The games included ice-sliding, water obstacles, the slides, the hurdles as well as running, wrestling and other events were all caught on camera. But what was most protested against was the fact that cameras would zoom in on the shots that were suggestive, doing close ups of the body parts of the girls, repeated on end. The program was also hit with complaints because it was aired on a Sunday morning, where the whole family would be gathered to watch television.
Among the complaints that were sent in soon after the episode was broadcasted, the viewers stated that it was as though they had been watching an adult program and that there were front shots of the contestants' chest, even one shots to the girls' breasts. There were some who defended the program on the viewer board though, saying that "It was a refreshing broadcast fit for the summer. It seemed like I was on a vacation." as well as comments that suggested that there was discrimination involved. "It's suddenly provocative when the cast ask the girls to dress in bikini and t-shirts when it's fine if men take off their shirts?"
