Free flu shots provided by BMA in August

ฺBANGKOK, 25 July 2011 (NNT)-Bangkok Governor M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra has encouraged people to receive free flu shots with altogether 79,000 doses made available to mark Her Majesty the Queen 79th Birthday on 12 August 2011.

According to Bangkok Governor, flu is a disease that can be found in any age groups and causes respiratory problems. It is important to reduce the likelihood and the outbreak of the flu. The Governor stressed that people likely to contract the flu include 7 month old pregnant women, overweight people of 100 kilograms or more, the elderly who are 65 years old and above and babies of 6 months to 2 years old.

Medical services of Wachira Hospital and public health offices around Bangkok will be providing free flu shots from 10-30 August, 2011. Meanwhile a team of doctors will be vaccinating flu shots free of charge from 16.00 hrs – 20.00 hrs. at Sanam Luang.
